A Loving note from our founders ❤️❤️

It was the year of ideation and conceptualization in 2004, with Gaurav Mahindra,Founder a passionate animal lover, who lives in the UAE for over 42 years with his family who moved to the UAE over 60 years ago. As he was growing up on the streets of Bur Dubai & Satwa, he noticed a lack of pet stores that catered to the unique needs of the region's diverse pet population. The few pet stores that existed were often overcrowded, poorly stocked, and lacked the personal touch that Gaurav believed was essential for building strong relationships with pet owners.

 

Gaurav, who had a background in business & IT and a love for animals, saw an opportunity to fill this gap. He decided to take the leap and open his own pet store, Pet Corner, in the Dubai Investment Park area. The store was small, but Gaurav was determined to make it a success.

 

The early days were tough. Gaurav worked tirelessly to source high-quality pet food and supplies, often traveling to different parts of the world to find the best products. He also spent countless hours building relationships with local pet owners, learning about their needs and preferences, and offering personalized advice and guidance.

 

As the store grew in popularity, Gaurav began to receive requests from pet owners in other parts of the UAE who were unable to visit the store in person. This sparked an idea – why not create an e-commerce platform & be visible in other Emirates, like Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah and Dubai-that would allow customers to shop from the comfort of their own homes or choose to walk in to any of our growing branches.

 

With the help of his amazing team, Gaurav launched Pet Corner's e-commerce platform, which quickly became a hit. The online store allowed customers to browse and purchase a wide range of pet products, including food, toys, and accessories. The platform also featured a loyalty program, which rewarded customers for their repeat business.

 

As the years passed, Pet Corner continued to grow and expand. Gaurav opened new locations throughout the UAE, each one designed to provide a unique and personalized shopping experience for pet owners. The company also introduced a range of services, including pet grooming, training, and veterinary care.

 

In 2007, Sidarth Mahindra, a seasoned business professional, joined Pet Corner as a key member of the management team. With his expertise and vision, the company embarked on a journey of rapid expansion. Under his leadership, Pet Corner's product range expanded to over 10,000 unique pet products, catering to the diverse needs of pets across the UAE.

 

The company's supply chain was also revamped, ensuring that products were sourced from reputable manufacturers and delivered to customers in a timely and efficient manner. This focus on logistics and procurement enabled Pet Corner to maintain a high level of inventory turnover, reducing stockouts and overstocking.

 

As a result of these efforts, Pet Corner's revenue grew significantly, with the company reporting a substantial increase in sales year-on-year. The company's e-commerce platform also saw a surge in popularity, with customers able to browse and purchase products from the comfort of their own homes.

 

Today, Pet Corner is one of the leading pet retailers in the UAE, with over 20 locations and a thriving e-commerce platform. The company's commitment to quality, customer service, and supply chain management has earned it a reputation as a trusted and reliable partner for pet owners across the region.
